Federal authorities have arrested Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson.
According to sources quoted in The Washington Post, 12 search warrants were executed Friday afternoon in connection with Johnson’s arrest, and his wife, Leslie E Johnson was also taken into custody. Officers escorted Mr. Johnson in handcuffs from his home in Mitchellville shortly after 1pm today.
Johnson is expected to appear in court later today, and charges are pending.
A plumber who arrived on the scene shortly after 1pm told The Washington Post that he got a call from the FBI asking to come to check “the toilet to make sure there is nothing in them.” Steve Willsey of Gene’s Plumbing told The Post that he spent about an hour pulling up Johnson’s toilet to see if anything was stuck in the wax ring that seals the toilet to the floor. So far, nothing.
