But it won’t be easy for him. Last.fm Trends looks at the line-up.
This year’s nominations are a close-knit bunch. With two tracks apiece for Eminem and Jay-Z, and only B.o.B to get between them, it looks like the battle for dominance between the two will be hard fought.
“Not Afraid,” a rare solo spot on Recovery, is tantalizingly close behind though. It’s just 15,000 plays behind Jay-Z’s top pick, and has actually been played by 20,000 more Last.fm listeners. Given a little time it could well be on top.
Even so, we’re calling this one for Jay-Z. Recent trends might not be in his favor, but “Empire State Of Mind” has dominated playlists since it first dropped, and it’s unlikely to go unloved at the show.
Find out who nabs it on February 13th at 8pm, as CBS air the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards.
