Serena Williams Is Hospitalized
When I got this news, I immediately stopped what I was doing and began to pray. This is serious.
According to People magazine, Serena has been hospitalized with a pulmonary embolism in her lungs. Most commonly known as a blood clot. For those who are unaware, a pulmonary embolism is a blood clot that travels from the legs up a major vein that empties blood into the heart and lungs. If that clot becomes trapped in the lungs, it impedes the flow of blood around it causing oxygen starvation to the surrounding cells, leading to respiratory distress and sudden death.
Her rep, Nicole Chabot also told the magazine that “doctors are continuing to monitor her situation closely.”
Serena underwent an emergency surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA.
Serena’s rep had this to say to PEOPLE Magazine…
On Monday, February 28, Serena “underwent emergency treatment at Cedars for a hematoma she suffered as a result of treatment for a more critical situation.”
“Last week, Serena suffered from a pulmonary embolism [a blood clot in the lungs] which was discovered upon her return to L.A. She had been in New York for doctor appointments for the ongoing issues with her foot.”
All my prayer warriors, let’s GO. I hope all is well and we are looking for a total praise report soon. I don’t play when it comes to taking it to the altar and letting God do the rest.
