Children are our future right? Now, while some folks may think this is cliché there is nothing more important to a parent then the success of their children. The rise of violence and bullying in our schools across the nation has become increasingly disturbing and with the force of the world-wide web encouraging teens to document their every move- social network giant Facebook alongside Governor Martin O’Malley (D-MD) have decided to step in.

With young celebrities such as Selena Gomez and Cartoon Network stars Jackson and Ali from the ‘Dude, What Would Happen’ backing this movement, it’s becoming clear that this is no longer just a parental concern. Everyone no matter the age realizes that bullying is detrimental to the growth of our youth.

Governor O’Malley and the First Lady of Maryland are challenging not only the DMV to take the pledge- but Governor’s and communities across the States! So take the pledge on October 17th and help put an end to the violence.

Here are a few tragic stories of teens who are no longer with us due to this epidemic.
