Wowww! Divorces are pretty costly nowadays!! Mel Gibson is about to pay out his ex wife 425 MILLION dollars in divorce.

According to People magazine, a divorce settlement was finalized Friday in Los Angeles, and Mel Gibson is “not only single, but $425 million poorer.”

He and ex-wife Robyn Denise Moore were married 31-years, and according to the magazine, no prenuptial agreement was signed – entitling her to half of everything that Gibson earned during their marriage.

For those keeping score, that’s no small chunk of change. According to the Los Angeles Business Journal Gibson’s acting, directing and producing empire has ballooned to an estimated $850 million. His 2004 masterpiece “Passion of the Christ” grossed more than $600 million alone.

Gibson has also invested heavily in real estate, including a $15 million private island in Fiji purchased in 2005.

According to People, Moore, a former dental nurse, is also entitled to half of all film residuals that Gibson receives for the rest of his life.

The divorce will take effect Jan 9th and is believed to be the largest celebrity divorce payout in Hollywood History.
