Things To Do This Weekend In The DMV
It’s February and you know what that means: Black History Month AND the Super Bowl are among us. Check out some really cool things to do this weekend for both.
This weekend get out of the house and celebrate Black History Month in any way you can! Here are some local events perfect for the entire family…
Corcoran Gallery of Art
Now through February 12
This is a provocative exhibition of the most important African American artists of the past 30 years. It focuses on issues of race and sexual historical identity in contemporary culture. Admission is $10
Enslavement to Emancipation
The Anacostia Community Museum
Sunday, February 5, 2pm
In recognition of the 150th anniversary of DC’s Emancipation Act of 1982, The Anacostia Community Museum presents Enslavement to Emancipation featuring a discussion about the Civil War, abolition, and the personal lives of slaves and free people of color.
And last, but certainly not least…
Super Bowl 46 is finally here!! And if you’re looking for somewhere to watch my squad the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS WIN THE GAME, I’ve got you covered with a few venues airing the game with great food and drink specials.
Buffalo Wild Wings
Get there early!
BWW locations are expected to be the place to be this weekend while watching the game. With big screen televisions everywhere, beer, and of course, their wide variety of wings, it only makes sense. Representatives from different beer companies will be on site with games and giveaways during halftime. But, remember to get there EARLY because it will be a packed house.
Fuel Pizza and Wings
1606 K Street, NW
Sunday from 4:30-11pm
The venue is new to DC, but will be throwing their first Super Bowl Viewing Party this Sunday. There will be pizzas themed with the competing teams (clam pizza for New England and lasagna pizza in homage to New York). There will also be a “To Hell & Back” hot wing- eating contest with a cash prize. And to top it all off, Fuel will host drink specials, as well.
And don’t forget to have fun and be safe while out this weekend! Enjoy!
