We have a video for you to check out! But, that’s not all! Mayor of the struggling city of Newark, New Jersey has recently saved a woman citizen from a burning house.
The Washington grandmother claims that her ears were just good enough to hear the smoke detector. Listen to this fantastic story.

Cory Booker, mayor of Newark, New Jersey, had just arrived to his home on Thursday night, only to find his next-door neighbor’s home blazing with fiery flames. The neighbor claimed her daughter was stuck upstairs, crying for help.
Brooker and his bodyguard, Police Detective Alex Rodriguez, ran into the home’s kitchen, trying to sprint upstairs. Brooker mentioned at a news conference on Friday, when he tried to go through the fire, his body guard grabbed him by the belt, and prevented him from going in deeper.
Reuters reports that the mayor, “broke free and moved further into the home to search for the woman, who is ‘like a big sister to me’ and has been his neighbor for the past six years.”
“I felt terror. I couldn’t breath. I finally heard her and found her,” Booker recalled.
The Mayor eventually grabbed the woman, threw her over his shoulder, and carried her to safety. Both the mayor and the woman immediately taken to the hospital. A spokesman for the mayor mentioned the woman remained hospitalized, “in stable condition.”
Brooker who’s ,clothes caught on fire, reported, “It went from bad to worse. I was terrified in that blackened sooted room without an exit.”
The mayor’s security saved three other people in the burning home.
When asked about being a superhero, Brooker said:
“I think that’s way over the top. I’m a neighbor who did what most neighbors would do, jump into action to help a friend.”
