50 Cent Live-Tweets Hospital Scare: “I’m Feeling Better Today”

50 Cent caused a stir when he announced via Twitter that he had checked into a hospital Wednesday (May 16). Today, after several friends of 50 offered some insight into his condition, he said he’s better, though still hospitalized.

Last night, 50 tweeted a picture of himself in a hospital bed with a message promoting his upcoming Gangsta Grillz mixtape. There was lots of handwringing over his possible ailment, which he did not initially disclose.

He kept a sense of humor, tweeting updates and photos throughout the night, including one in which he’s in his hospital bed surrounded by a gaggle of stuffed animals.

In one instance, 50 called on friend, boxing champ Floyd Mayweather, Jr., to reach out to him. Mayweather spoke on 50’s hospitalization in an interview with V-103/Atlanta. “50 Cent is in the hospital at this particular time,” he said. “He’s extremely sick. But you know, we keep our fingers crossed and only hope for the best…And hopefully he gets better.”

DJ Drama, who is collaborating on 50’s Lost Tape Gangsta Grillz mixtape, later said that 50 was suffering from a stomach virus.

“First they wanted to keep it quiet, but he’s not a quiet guy,” Drama told XXL. “He should be cool. It’s nothing that serious. We still gonna do our promo run stuff [Thursday].”

Today, 50 cleared up much of the hoopla about his health the same way it began: with a tweet.
