Ludacris gives LL Cool J‘s “Jingling Baby” an update with the iTunes release of his new single, “Jingalin’, an ode to pole dancers and strip clubs.
Produced by Da Interz (“Birthday Cake”), Jingalin’ samples LL’s club classic, which was the first single from his 1990 album Walking With A Panther. Luda’s version, with its heavy bass shots and descriptive lyrics, re-imagines the song for strip clubs and tip drills.
Jingalin’, which you can listen to here, is the first single from Luda’s forthcoming album Ludaversal. The album is a follow-up to 2010′s Battle of the Sexes.
2 Chainz, a one-time member of Luda’s DTP family, recently explained the role A&R he plays on Ludaversal.
“My job is to give him beats from my perspective, from where I come from,” he told CBS Local. “I have a long history of club shows and rocking out and he’s a more venue artist. So I’m just trying to give him some looks from my eyes and perspective.”
In a recent interview, Da Internz described Luda’s new album this way:
“In one word, ‘Statement,’” Da Internz told Rap-Up. “This Ludaversal album is a statement.” Ludaversal is due to hit stores in September.
