Friends, family and fans of the late Chuck Brown will pay their respects Thursday afternoon in a special memorial service at the Washington Convention Center. The public is invited to this special event to memorialize “The Godfather of Go-Go” and to celebrating his life and contributions to DC music and culture.

The Brown Family will attend the event, along with notable DC guests including Mayor Vincent C. Gray, Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, Chairman Kwame Brown, Councilman Marion Barry, and other DC City Officials.

Dr. Michael A. Freeman from The Spirit of Faith Church will give the Eulogy while WPGC’s Rev Tony Lee will give the opening prayer. Other celebrity guests scheduled to attend include: Donnie Simpson (Host), Doug E. Fresh, Mike Epps, Ledisi, Kindred the Family Soul, Tom Joyner, Raheem DeVaughn, Sugar Bear, Omarosa, Cliff Jones, Tye Tribbett, Big G, Huggy Lowdown, Chris Paul, Rock Newman, The Chuck Brown Band and more.
