In the black-and-white clip, Kanye and crew prance around a virtual parking garage that contains a Lamborghini Murcielago, for which the track is named. At times the characters, in all black, crowd the screen in duplicates as if running through a cloning machine. Other times, they dance around the garage in a whimsical manner flashing “trippy” gazes at the camera.
In the end, they are all wiped away by the Lamborghini Murcielago.
The new video, stripped down and somewhat minimal, is a departure from Kanye’s usual extravagant affairs. Last month he debuted his experimental 30-minute short, Cruel Summer, during Cannes Film Festival.
In April, he raised anticipation for the current video when he dropped the bombshell “TheraFlu” (later named “Way Too Cold”) and released “Mercy” in the span of 48 hours. “Mercy” will be on the forthcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation album.
