50 Cent was hospitalized with neck and back injuries after being involved in a car crash with his bullet-proof SUV and a mack truck early Tuesday (June 26) morning. The man with nine lives has since been released and is said to be doing well.
According to his site, Thisis50.com, the rapper’s SUV was rear-ended by a truck on the Long Island Expressway. He was taken to a hospital in Queens and released a short time later.
“He was released this morning and is doing fine,” a spokesperson has confirmed to CBS Local. His driver was also reportedly released from the hospital.
Photos of the rap mogul laying on a stretcher following the accident were posted on his site along with pictures of the truck that allegedly rear-ended his SUV.
This was second Queens hospital stay for 50 in a little over a month. In May, Fiddy was hospitalized after suffering a case of food poisoning. “[Eminem] called and said, ‘Man you been shot nine times, don’t f*** around and die over a burger,’” 50 told XXL. “He called and started making me laugh and s***, and I wasn’t feeling good. So I just started to laugh, and he cheered me up when I was feeling uncomfortable.”
50 Cent – known as Curtis James Jackson III before his rap career took off – is no stranger to hospitals. In May of 2000, he was shot nine times outside his grandmother’s house in Queens. The alleged shooter, Darryl Baum, was killed three weeks later.
50 Cent is currently promoting his Five (Murder by Numbers) album, set for a July 3 release.
