DJ Flexx caught up with Mindless Behavior backstage at the 2012 BET Awards in Los Angeles – where they picked up the “Viewers Choice Award,” beating out Kanye West, Jay-Z,Lil’ Wayne,,Drake,Chris Brown,Miguel, Wale and Beyonce for the honor – a David vs. Goliath moment that proves they’re more than just a ‘passing fad.’ These guys are for real.

It’s a new, more mature Mindless Behavior.

“Two years ago, nobody knew who we were,” says Prodigy. “And even though I feel like we still have to work really hard to make sure the whole world knows who we are, it feels good that people respect us when we come in,and see us as artists, not just as little kids.”

Prodigy, Princeton, Ray Ray and Roc Royal will be onstage July 7th and 8th along with Jacob Latimore and Lil Twist at Constitution Hall.
According to the guys, they’ve been practicing 11 hours a day for the past month – and they’re ready to take the DMV by storm.

“We have an hour long show now,” says Ray Ray. With “more songs, new dance moves” and wardrobe changes between the numbers.

The July 7th concert is already sold out, but tickets are still available for the July 8th concert at ticketmaster.com

After the concert tour, Mindless Behavior plans on taking a break to work on their sophomore album, due this fall.
