DMX was hospitalized with a concussion on Saturday (July 14) following an ATV accident outside his home in South Carolina. Despite the injuries, he tells fans that he is “good.”
According to reports, the Ruff Ryder rapper injured himself when his four-wheeler vehicle flipped over. The rapper appeared in a Twitter photo wearing a hospital gown with an IV in his arm, fingers crossed and eyes closed.
“IM GOOD,” he tweeted. “FLIPPED MY F*****N’ FOUR WHEELER OVER!”
The veteran MC commented that he has little memory of the accident except for being placed in the ambulance. The Yonkers, New York spitter born Earl Simmons, who has battled legal and personal issues throughout his career, also said he was “lucky” that he is still alive and that he averted serious injuries because he fell “right on his ass.”
This is not the first time DMX has found himself wearing a hospital robe with fans wondering if he was okay. He was hospitalized last January after suffering food poisoning, and in September of 2008 he was admitted for “fear of a stroke.”
There was no mention if this would affect DMX’s upcoming performances. He is set to join the likes of Nas, 2 Chainz, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Future, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon on the Rock the Bells tour later this year. X’s upcoming album, Undisputed, is due in stores August 28. —Keith Murphy, CBS Local
