Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pound The Alarm’ Video Revives Trinidad Carnival

Nicki Minaj returns to her Trinidadian roots for new video “Pound The Alarm,” which reconstructs the Island’s Carnival celebration.

Minaj, who is a Trinidad native, pays homage to the Island party with the clip that was shot in her homeland. Fire breathers, stilt walkers, colorful costumes and plenty of gyrating bodies give “Pound The Alarm” its Carnival flavor.

Last week, a different type of Nicki Minaj video surfaced. A fan charged the stage and grabbed the rapper before receiving a beat-down on camera from her security. Minaj recovered quickly and continued the show. But it is unclear what happened to the fan. 

“Pound The Alarm” is the latest single from Minaj’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album.
