Frank Ocean is coming off the critical and commercial success of his debut album Channel Orange, and praise from the superstar likes of Beyonce and Russell Simmons. And if a recent studio session is any indication of what is to come, he’s moving ahead with more groundbreaking collabos.

On Monday (October 8), Grammy-winning Neptunes super producer Pharrell Williams tweeted out an intriguing image of Ocean, hip-hop icon Jay-Z, and himself sitting in the recording studio together. Skateboard P was excited about the musical union, posting “Yessur, in the studio with @S_C_ and @frank_ocean.”

Pharrell followed up that tweet with a veiled preview of what the trio is cooking up.

“Can’t wait for y’all to hear what I’m working on with big bro @S_C_ and lil bro @frank_ocean,” he announced on Twitter.

Of course, Pharrell, Jay, and Frank Ocean have a musical connection. The lauded producer is behind such Jay-Z favorites as “I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)” and “Excuse Me Miss.” The Brooklyn rhyme mogul recruited Ocean to sing on his and Kanye West’s platinum  Watch The Throne debut. And Pharrell appears on the Ocean track “Sweet Life” featured on Channel Orange.—Keith Murphy, CBS Local
