With his new album R.E.D., Ne-Yo says he is following his own blueprint, but in the world of social media he doesn’t always have to lead. The singer/songwriter recently shared his favorite people to follow on Twitter.
As the senior vice president of A&R at Universal Motown, Ne-Yo isn’t only responsible for his own music. He also oversees a roster of talented artists. One, in particular, is signed to his Compound U imprint. He is following her closely and wants you to do so as well.
“You should definitely follow Ravaughn Brown,” Ne-Yo said of his new artist signed to his Compound U imprint. “She’s documenting her whole journey. It would be entertaining to follow her journey.

For business advice and “Inspirational quotes” Ne-Yo recommends his partner Tango.
“He’s my business partner. He’s notorious for inspirational quotes,” Ne-Yo explained. “He feels like everyboy on the planet could be a better business man if they follow his lead. He’s good for the inspirational quote with a business savvy to it. If you want to get your business mind right, that’s someone you should follow.”
In a departure from his Compound family, Ne-Yo says you should follow rapper Fabolous, the quick-witted twitterer who is not afraid to ruffle some feathers online.
“Follow Fabolous, he’s really funny as hell,” he said. “He’s always saying something really funny.”
Outside of his work on the social networks, Ne-Yo dropped his album on election day. The singer/songwriter recently explained why explained why his fifth studio album, R.E.D. nearly tore him in two.
“This is the first album I paid attention to the fact that I have a really broad fanbase and let it be a motivating factor to the music that I do,” Ne-Yo previously told CBS Local. “I had to make sure my R&B fanbase knew that I would never abandon them. Just because I found love on the pop side doesn’t mean I’m not an R&B artist. I’m an R&B artist first, bottom line.”
