LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC/WPGC) – Award-winning author Toni Morrison is best known for her epic novels Song of Solomon, The Bluest Eye, and of course, Beloved.

But Harmony Evans, Harlequin Kimani Romance author, praises Morrison’s ability to make black literature accessible to everyone.

“When I learned she wrote her first novel, The Bluest Eye, while working and raising her children … I thought to myself, I can do that too, and I did.”

Check back all month for WPGC’s tribute to Black History Month.
