Bad Brains: Black Pioneers of Punk

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC/WPGC) – Did you know some pioneers of the hardcore punk movement were black? Bad Brains, a D.C. based punk band, got its start in 1978.

Originally developed as a jazz fusion band, they began to change and adapt a faster, more hardcore sound.

While the band has changed its members through the years, they continue to deliver a unique blend of punk and fast paced reggae.

The band has recorded nine studio albums and recently reunited to play at the Howard theater.
