LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC/WPGC) - Venus and Serena Williams have taken the world by storm with 22 Grand Slam titles between them.

The sisters born in the early 1980’s, made waves in the tennis world in the mid 1990’s.

In 2002, older sister Venus became the first No.1 ranked African American female player with her sister Serena taking her place a few months later.

The two have gone on to win four gold medals each.

The sisters have become an icon in American culture, most recently appearing in an iPhone 5 commercial.
