It’s a good year to be a graduate from Howard University as the school announced former President Bill Clinton will deliver the commencement speech to the Class of 2013 on May 11.

“We are thrilled that President Clinton has agreed to deliver this year’s Commencement address,” Howard President Sidney Ribeau said.

“As a preeminent leader, humanitarian and advocate, his extraordinary global work and commitment to public service will inspire the class of 2013 as they prepare to make their mark on the world,” Ribeau said.

In the past, Howard has called on Oprah Winfrey, Arne Duncan, Harold Ford Jr. and Gwen Ifill to deliver the commencement speech. The reaction from Howard students and recent alumni was gracious and excited.

Under the Clinton administration, the country witnessed the longest economic expansions in United States history.
