It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Superman! It’s Adonis – the most gorgeous Superman ever. Henry Cavill (Superman) is and will be every woman’s McDreamy and McSteamy Man of Steel.

Okay, let me compose myself.

If you are a fan of the vintage Superman or grew up believing in his super powers, then this is the blockbuster movie of the summer for you. “Man of Steel” takes those who never knew the whole story on a chronological journey of Cal-El’s (Superman’s) saga to earth. You are introduced to his parents Joe-El (Russell Crowe) and Lara Lor-Van (Ayelet Zurer) from Krypton who wanted to save their son and sent him to Earth; where he is adopted by his Earth parents Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner) and Martha Kent (Diane Lane), who protect and guide their adopted son on how to control his super powers. Then, we transition into young adulthood where he first encounters Lois Lane (Amy Adams). A chain of events happen that propels General Zod (Michael Shannon from HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) and his army from Krypton to Earth and the battle begins.

Director Zack Snyder takes you on a superhero journey that will have you cheering and wanting to fly like Superman. Just when you think the movie is getting ready to end, you get sucked in again wanting to jump through the screen to help the superhero. All I know is that I would have loved to have been in that Superman suit.

I’m giving it 10 heart beats, 5 for the movie and 5 for the suit!
See you at the concession stand!
