After dragging out their divorce for six years, Dwyane Wade and his high school sweetheart Siovaughn Funches-Wade finally reached an agreement on Monday.
This comes after a sidewalk protest in Chicago over the the weekend where the mother of the NBA star’s two sons protested in front of Dailey Center where child support cases take place.
Wade’s lawyer called the protest “embarrassing.”
The divorce settlement comes in at a hefty $5 million!
The settlement includes a “non-disparage” agreement, which means the couple aren’t allowed to basically talk trash about each other publicly.
Funches-Wade apparently was not happy with the agreement, but decided to go ahead with it.
According to the South Florida Sun-Setinel, James Pritikin, Wade’s lawyer, issued a statement Monday:
Dwyane Wade has made several requests over the years to settle this matter, despite Ms. Funches having 16 different attorneys and 2 arrests throughout this process.
Mr. Wade has provided a very generous settlement to Ms. Funches to continue to live a wonderful lifestyle for the rest of her life.
Despite false allegations by Ms. Funches claiming to be ‘homeless’ and ‘destitute,’ Dwyane Wade has maintained over the years financial support to his ex-wife by providing her with income over $25,000 on a monthly basis, timely paid for her home mortgage, maintenance and security at the house, 4 cars, insurance, taxes and all of her attorney fees throughout this process.
