LANHAM, Md. (WPGC) — Much like his music, Kanye West is taking fatherhood seriously.
So seriously that he’s reportedly purchased a pair of multi-million dollar armored trucks to keep safe girlfriend Kim Kardashian and their baby daughter North.
The 36-year-old rapper bought two luxury Prombron Iron Diamond SUVs from Latvian-based Dartz Motorz Company for a staggering $1.2 million apiece, according to the Daily Mail.
The high-performance SUVs are specifically designed to “avoid kidnapping, hijacking and other problems,” according to the company’s website, and the Daily Mail says the vehicles are “built to withstand attacks from landmines and rocket-propelled grenades.”
The three-door SUV can go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds and has a max speed of 194 mph, according to the company’s website.
While there haven’t been any threats against Kanye, Kim, or 2-month-old ‘Nori’ yet, they aren’t taking any chances, a source close to Kanye told the Daily Star.
“Kanye is fully aware that his new family is so high-profile they attract the attention of weirdos and psychopaths,” the source said. “If there have been any kidnapping threats already against their daughter, he isn’t saying. But that fear is clearly in his mind.”
“He aims to leave nothing to chance … His priority is to get delivery of the vehicles, especially Kim’s, before he begins his U.S. tour in October.”
Sources also said Kanye and Kim will use bodyguards and body doubles to avoid paparazzi.
