It’s kind of hard not to “judge” Chris Brown after this: the 24-year-old singer was arrested early Sunday morning after he was involved in a fight outside of a D.C. hotel.
The altercation happened around 4:30 a.m. outside of the W Hotel on 15th Street in Northwest, Metropolitan Police say.
Brown and another man, Chris Hollosy, were arrested and charged with felony assault. Metropolitan Police spokesperson Paul Metcalf tells The Associated Press both are being held in police custody until Monday.
Police say a man was injured and reportedly taken to an area hospital with injuries. The victim’s name and details of his injuries have not yet been released. He had been released from the hospital as of early Sunday afternoon, according to AP.
Brown is still on felony probation since the 2009 beating of former girlfriend Rihanna. Brown pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault as part of a plea deal.
The Grammy Award-winning R&B singer has been involved in a number of incidents since his arrest in 2009. He was initially sued for a nightclub brawl that allegedly erupted between his entourage and Drake. Brown also fought with Frank Ocean and others after Ocean parked in Brown’s space at a recording studio in Los Angeles. Ocean said he suffered an injured finger, but no charges were filed. A second man, Sha’keir Duarte, sued Brown, claiming a concussion.
Brown’s arrest, according to AP, could prompt L.A. prosecutors to revoke Brown’s probation for the Rihanna beating and ask a judge to add additional penalties on the singer, including time in jail or prison.
