Kanye West was in D.C. for the Yeezus Tour’s stop at the Verizon Center Thursday, and before leaving town, he stopped by the WPGC studios for an interview with “The Pablo Show” Friday morning.
As usual, Yeezy had a lot to say. Here’s a topic-by-topic breakdown:

“I’m trying to get as close to a dream state as possible. That’s the reason why people be doing yoga, drink, smoke weed, pop molly. Whatever you do, it’s like people want to get into that dream state. And I’m not promoting any of that. I’m NOT promoting yoga in no type of way!” *laughs* “But I’m just saying that, um, you just want to be, you know, I want to be as surreal as possible. I want to be as unrealistic as possible…The worst thing about me comparing myself to Steve Jobs is that, you know, it’s too realistic of an idea. What I need to say is I’m more like Willy Wonka.”
“I’d also like to point out that I feel that ‘The Cosby Show’ that I grew up on is part of the reason why America was prepped to accept, you know, a middle class black family in that way. And a lot of what the Kardashians do that I don’t think they get enough credit, is they prep America to understand interracial relationships.”
“This is where I really got, you know, my forward style. Because I’m coming from Chicago, and you know, we were, we were just a little bit behind D.C…I guess what they was calling me was like a ‘bama’ or something like that.”
Kanye said the devotion to Ralph Lauren during his “College Dropout” days came from his DMV friends.
“Basically, I’m saying I got my swag from out here.”
Pablo asks Kanye to respond to President Barack Obama calling him a “jackass” in the past.
“What I’m saying is, man, we can go to dinner. It’s all good. Man, at the end of the day, even for the president, it’s an entertainment value… If he’s talking about, you know, my girl or he’s talking about me, he’s just trying to lighten the mood up to show that he’s personable and he knows what’s happening in pop culture.”
Back in September, talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and Kanye got in a very public feud after Kimmel poked fun of a Kanye interview that aired on BBC. Here’s what he had to say about it:
“The one thing also with the Jimmy Kimmel thing is like, OK, you a comedian. You’re a specific comedian that I know. That mean gloves is off…Let’s turn up. If you wanna turn up, let’s turn up. I been waitin’ for this opportunity. I been waitin’ to turn up!”
At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye epically hijacked Taylor Swift’s moment as she was accepting her award for Best Female Video.
He grabbed the mic and delivered his unforgettable “I’mma let you finish” speech, saying that “Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time” and thoroughly shocking the audience with his bluntness.
Kanye didn’t exactly mention Swift by name during his interview with “The Pablo Show,” but at one point when he and Pablo both began a sentence at the same time, he said the following:
“I don’t want to, uh, cut you off. Keep going.” *laughs* “I’mma let you finish, but…”
