WPGC prides itself on having the best when it comes to music, showing support to local artists and giving the DMV the best remixes and collaborations you wouldn’t hear anywhere else. This is proven yet again by this epic remix of 17-year-old New Zealand singer Lorde’s “Royals.”
This song is up for a handful of awards at the GRAMMYs this weekend and as a song that has already crossed multiple genres and platforms, it was only a matter of time before a mastermind found a new, innovative way to remix it. This is where local producer DJ Dyn-O-Might comes in. With the help of Kenny Sharp, the two collaborated for a mellow go-go version of the hit and it has gained some pretty great exposure.
Recently, the Washington Post gave a shout to the song, which WPGC added to rotation the minute it was heard. As one of the only stations in the DMV that sees the beauty and musical finesse of go-go, it’s no wonder the song is a constant request.
