The Tupac biopic, which is slated for release next year, has found a new director. Sort of.
The latest hire just so happens to be the guy who was originally supposed to take the job, John Singleton.
The director—known for his films Boyz n the Hood, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Poetic Justice, which starred Tupac and Janet Jackson—has not only signed on to direct the untitled film, but will produce and rewrite the script for the project. The movie is believed to follow the L.A.’s rapper life from his rise to being one of the most popular hip-hop artists to his 1996 murder in Las Vegas.
