New Joint of the Week: Danity Kane
Danity Kane are back. Well, three-quarters of them. Former member D. Woods has dropped out of the band while original members Aubrey O’Day, Shannon Bex, Dawn Richard and Aundrea Fimbres are back with a hit record entitled “Bye Baby.”
Since officially reuniting last year, the former Bad Boy Records girl-group have been hard at work in the studio working with producers like Da Internz, The Stereotypes (“Damaged”) James Fauntleroy, Ester Dean, and more.
The lead single “Bye Baby” falls in line with the current R&B/Disco sound. Get your roller skates out and get ready to groove down to this one. Sirius XM “The Heat” has already added the record into regular rotation and other rhythmic radio stations will soon follow.
I am making a strong prediction that 2014 will be the year of the R&B girl-group comebacks. If you are unfamiliar with the Jazmin Sisters, please check out their EP entitles “90’s Baby” and hit single “You.”
The ladies of Danity Kane will possibly announce a new label deal in the near future, but until then, check out “Bye Baby.”
