DMX is going head-to-head with a bank in New York over a house he hasn’t lived in since 2005. The rapper’s Mt. Kisco, N.Y. home is the resting place of his estranged wife, Tashera, who hasn’t made a single house payment since 2008.
The house is in DMX’s name though he hasn’t called it home since 2005. His wife was supposed to take over all financial responsibilities for the $1 million estate. Unfortunately, she owes $258,927 but since the house isn’t in her name, the bank is knocking at DMX’s door for payment.
He released a statement to TMZ, bashing his wife’s insincerity. “I told her she is living above her means, that you can’t still live on the same block as Martha Stewart and Chevy Chase, you gotta downgrade, but she refuses to do so because the house is in my name. She doesn’t give a f*** about my credit.”
This isn’t the first time DMX has faced foreclosure. In 2009, his Phoenix, Ariz. home was taken by the bank while he was serving a jail sentence.
