Armed Man Gets Away Following Shootout With Police in Md.
LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Police are searching for an armed man who they say opened fire on troopers during a traffic stop late Wednesday night in Easton.
A Maryland State Police trooper pulled over Brooks S. Perry, 28, for speeding around midnight on eastbound Route 50 near Route 404, authorities say. The man initially gave the trooper a false name and claimed to not have any identification, according to police.
The trooper suspected Perry may have been intoxicated and grew further concerned when Perry asked whether additional troopers would be called to the scene. Before backup could arrive, the man fled the scene in a dark-colored Hyundai.
