Starting today, Twitter has rolled out a brand new design for users that includes many Facebook-like amenities.
In the newly designed homepage, each profile will consist of a large cover photo and profile picture (set to the left of the screen), as well as a way to “pin” tweets to the tops of profiles. Popular tweets that have been shared more will be bigger down the timeline.
Every user’s homepage will have tweets down the middle of the page while the left column includes the profile picture, the bio, a way to tweet that person directly, the original join date and a hub of user uploaded photos. The right column will house “who to follow” and trending topics.
A running header above the Twitter timeline will display the number of tweets, followers, photos and videos, favorites and accounts a user follows.
The new design is a streamlined version of the already tweaked Facebook timeline.
Twitter has admitted this design is more photo-centric and allows filtering of tweets, tweets with photos/videos, or tweets and replies.
They are slowly rolling out the new design to its users but some of the most popular users already have the new design. Take a peak at what’s coming on Kerry Washington, Zac Efron or John Legend‘s profile.
