As one of the biggest musical events of the year, Coachella is always full of surprises. This year was no different as the biggest in music and entertainment gathered in California for an entire weekend of dancing and memorable performances.
But the crowd saw more than they bargained for when two of hip-hop’s biggest names surprised the festival by guest appearing at random sets.
Beyoncé graced the stage to dance with her sister Solange Knowles, but the “Drunk in Love” singer didn’t steal too much of the spotlight. Beyoncé engaged in a choreographed dance break alongside her sister and didn’t sing one note while on stage. Instead, the two jumped around in sync while the crowd cheered.
Her counterpart Jay Z had his own guest appearance across the grounds when he joined Nas on stage to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Illmatic. Jay and Nas teamed up to sing “Dead Presidents II” before both rappers chatted on stage with Jay Z congratulating Nas on the 20-year mark for his album.
Nas also welcomed a surprise visit from Diddy.
Coachella will continue this weeked in Indio, Calif. with headlining performances by Outkast, Nas, Pharrell Williams, Kid Cudi and more.
