Andre 3000 and Big Boi, the dynamic duo known as Outkast, reunited to perform at Coachella 2014 for the first time since 2002, but some questioned whether the performance was worth the wait.

According to The Guardian, Outkast’s headlining performance was underwhelming.  Festival-goers began to leave during Hey Ya! before Outkast’s entire performance had ended.

Sources say their  rapping wasn’t the issue. Yet, the sound was “loose and thin”, and the overall production lacked their usual theatrical moments.   The duo used a kitchen table with two chairs as a prop on stage, a bicycle, and stuffed polar bear.   Big Boi later explained the props’ significance.

Janelle Monáe, who frequently collaborates with Big Boi, made an appearance.
