The-Dream Turns Himself Into Police for Assault
UPDATE: Photos of Lydia Nam’s cuts and bruises have been added to the investigation. See them here, via TMZ.
The Dream has turned himself into police after legal documents were filed saying he kicked, strangled and punched his then-pregnant girlfriend, Lydia Nam.
He has been sitting in the Midtown North Precinct since 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. He has been booked on two felony charges – assault and strangulation.
A rep for Dream told TMZ, “Dream voluntarily surrendered to the Midtown North Precinct this morning in order to responsibly address the false allegations filed against him by Lydia Nam. He is innocent of the charges filed against him today.”
The incident allegedly happened in April 2013, three months before she gave birth, while the two were at the Plaza Hotel in New York. Nam didn’t file the police report right away, waiting until November 2013 to talk to cops.
Dream was previously arrested in June 2013 for domestic violence allegations, filed by Nam. Soon after, she dropped the charges so the case was dismissed.
The two have been seeing each other since 2012 after Dream and ex-wife Christina Milian split up. Nam is known in her homeland of Canada for being an escort and has even had child endangerment charges filed against her.
Nam has not publicly commented on the matter.
