Rapper Gucci Mane has pleaded guilty to a federal firearms charge today while in Atlanta, Ga. court.
According to the Associated Press, Gucci Mane (real name Radric Davis), entered a guilty plea to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon which could ultimately have a penalty of 10 years in jail and a fine of $25,000.
Prosecutors recommended Gucci serve three years and three months in prison, which would allow him a December 2016 release date. He has been locked up since Sept. 2013.
In Sept. 2013, police found the rapper walking in Atlanta carrying a Taurus 45-caliber handgun with eight rounds of ammunition. Two days later, a friend called police when he grew concerned about the rapper’s behavior. Cops found Gucci around 1 a.m. and he soon became increasingly agitated with officers. When he was arrested, authorities found a Glock 40-caliber handgun and 11 rounds of ammunition.
