Listen to Tyga’s Reggae-Esque New Song, ‘We Don’t Die’

Tyga‘s been popping up quite a bit lately, though more often than not it’s been for his guest spots on other artists’ tracks than his own material.

That changed over the weekend, when the rapper dropped “We Don’t Die,” a new song ahead of his upcoming studio album The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty.

“We Don’t Die” is still inherently a hip-hop tune, but the song has definite reggae roots and influences — particularly on the chorus, which features a Rihanna-esque female backing vocal warning against playing “with fiyah.”

The reggae influence also comes in on the backing track, which includes an emphasis on the off-beat and an up-in-the-mix bass.
