Watch Miguel Get Symbolic in New ‘Simple Things’ Video

It’s been more than a minute since Miguel’s track “Simple Things” came out — way back in February as part of the Girls soundtrack. Still, today (May 29), he decided to release an elegant black and white video for it.

The video, presented by his Art Dealer Chic YouTube channel, which has also been the source of several Miguel Presents webisodes, appears to have been shot in Los Angeles and co-stars model (and Cody Simpson ex) Gigi Hadid and two wolves. Both co-stars are featured running loose on the hard streets of East L.A.

The wolves, one dark and one grey, are meant to be the symbolic animal personalities of Miguel and Hadid, who act out the coming together of two lovers in yet another symbolic metaphor — the constant walking, across urban streets, the beach and a canyon, that sets the pace of the video and implies a meeting somewhere in the middle between the two.

In short, it’s a video Carl Jung would have loved.
