“I’ll be stuntin like my daddy,” was all Kelly Rowland had to say on Instagram to turn the music world into a frenzy. Accompanied by a picture showing a mini pair of Jordans next to an adult pair, the former Destiny’s Child singer shared her news happily via social media.
Last month, Rowland married her manager Tim Witherspoon in an intimate wedding in Costa Rica, calling the day completely “perfect,” according to Us Weekly.
The surprise baby announcement comes a day before the World Cup, the sporting event she is currently working on music to support. While marrying the love of her life and carrying her first child, she teamed up with Pepsi for their Beats of the Beautiful Game album. “I’m very excited. I think the whole project is a really, really cool idea in marrying…music and visual and art all together,” she admits.
The Pepsi sponsored album pairs superstars and upcoming artists together with dynamic directors to produce short films that highlight aspects of football (soccer) culture. Rowland’s song “The Game” was featured in a short film by Spike Lee.
Rowland will not be in attendance at the World Cup but assures fans she will be watching “in front of a huge television.”
