The new album is a continuation of her 2011 release I Remember Me and is a reflection of the person she is and grew to be in the past three years. “It’s different expressions of me as an artist, a girl, a music lover,” she said in the exclusive interview.
Fans can expect a Chicago-esque, stepping style on the new album, including the songs “It’s Your World” and “He Ain’t Moving.” In fact, her new single “Walk It Out” was filmed in Chicago, keeping the influence alive.
Her world is a mix of music, movies and Mommyhood, admitting her four-year-old son just finished preschool and is roaming the country with her this summer. “My baby probably wants to go back to school from playing so much,” she laughs, saying she’s definitely a fun mother.
While she isn’t pressuring her son David Daniel Otunga Jr. to take a musical path in life, she admits he’s enjoying the lifestyle right now. Hudson herself grew up with a supportive mother who was willing to let Hudson do what made her happiest, which included a jaunt on American Idol – a decision that skyrocketed the singer’s career.

JHUD will be released mid-August of this year.
