Remy Ma’s Prison Release Gets Delayed
Remy Ma was sentenced to eight years in prison after she was found guilty on two charges of assault for a shooting.
But, her July 31, 2014 release date has been delayed due to a phone violation. “Remy Smith’s tentative release date of July 31 was postponed due to a misbehavior report involving a July 21 incident for phone violations, particularly third party calling,” Linda Foglia, a public information officer for the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision told MTV News.
Basically, every inmate has a list of 15 numbers they are approved to call. If someone on the list forwards Remy Ma to another number, it’s called “third-party calling,” a violation of the rules.
While no one can be sure, Remy Ma conducted a radio station interview on July 21, which may fuel the reasoning behind the delay.
There is no news on when Remy will be released from prison as the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in New York is still sorting out punishment. “We expect to resolve that misbehavior report sometime in the next week or so,” Foglia said.
