When Old Navy tweeted an ad for its Thank You Event sale that featured an interracial family, the trolls attacked, as Jezebel reported.
Thankfully, the internet can also be a force for good, and many responded to the haters with support for the brand.
The ad inspired a positive reaction on social media from interracial families happy to see more diversity in advertising. Many tweeted at Old Navy with their own family photos.
The company doesn’t seem fazed by the stir its ad created. “We are a brand with a proud history of championing diversity and inclusion,” Old Navy spokeswoman Debbie Felix told The Huffington Post Monday. “At Old Navy, everyone is welcome.”
