Mario may have come on the scene as a teenager, but he’s all grown up now.
The singer, originally from Baltimore, stopped by The Joe Clair Morning Show on Wednesday to talk about his approach to his career, his love life and his upcoming projects.
With his newest album, he said, “I really want to start at the bottom like a new artist.” His fifth studio album, “Paradise Cove,” was independently produced.
Fans can expect a more mature, honest and intimate Mario on “Paradise Cove.” As he told The Joe Clair Morning Show, “I’m at the point right now where I want everything to be raw and real.”
His new single, “I Need More,” is about searching for something more meaningful than a fun night. “I’ve written on this record like I’ve never written before,” Mario explained.
The singer’s new outlook won’t be limited to music, however. Mario is also currently writing a book called “Life in Exchange.”
As for his love life, Mario is happy to be single, even confessing to hopping in his DM’s on occasion. During Tati’s 2 Cents, he sang the praises of Mya, who visited The Joe Clair Morning Show on Tuesday.
Though he explained why he’s not married, he did admit, “I think I would be an amazing husband when the time is right.” Hear that, ladies?
