Rumors are swirling ever since news broke that Tamar Braxton of “The Real” would not return for the daytime talk show’s third season.
Braxton has co-hosted the show with Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon since it debuted in 2013.
Some believe Braxton was fired in the wake of the co-host’s Instagram post: a picture of her sister, singer Toni Braxton, hugging her with the caption, “I love u all but I have been stabbed in the back by someone I stupidly trusted (not my man or my sisters). I am not about to be tried and tested to snitch and it’s not in good taste to tell you who…… but as #tamartians you are very smart and can figure things out on your own. But know that every one who smiles in your face is NOT your friend and is NOT cheering for you and will LIE and try and tear u down to TRY and dim your light.”
After being trolled by fans, co-host Loni Love responded. In a video posted on Facebook, Love explained what went down behind the scenes, saying “I got a group text from Tamar. She says I think, I heard I’m being fired. First person to answer was Tamera. I woke up from my nap and I answered about an hour later. I immediately called her, I said what are you talking about? She didn’t pick up. I ended up texting her asking what was going on.”
When Love asked show executives why Braxton wouldn’t be returning to the show, “They told me basically it’s none of my business.”

In a statement to “E! News,” Braxton and a show rep said, “‘The Real’ and Tamar Braxton have mutually decided that Tamar will not be continuing with the show for its upcoming third season. She will be leaving in order to concentrate on her solo career. Everyone associated with ‘The Real’ appreciates Tamar’s efforts and the contributions she has made to the show’s success, and we wish her all the best for the future.”
