With Tha Carter V still under lock and key at Cash Money Records, Lil Wayne isn’t letting that stop him from releasing new music. In addition to the mixtape he released with 2 Chainz, Collegrove, and the rumored mixtape he has in the works with DJ Drama, the rapper plans on releasing two new albums soon.
Performing at the Comerica Theater in Phoenix on Saturday (May 28), Lil Wayne told the crowd, “Before I go any further I want y’all to know I got two new albums coming y’all way.” They naturally burst into cheers (via XXL).
Feeding off their energy, he began echoing similar sentiments he expressed during an appearance at Denver’s 4/20 Rally. He asked the audience to chant a series of curses aimed at all sorts of things, including Birdman and Cash Money Records. “F— the bulls—,” he said, which the crowd chanted back. “F— the Birdman,” he said, closely followed by “F— Cash Money.”
Lil Wayne got real after issuing his series of “f— you’s.” He said, “I’m going through a lot of bulls— right now these n—– got me in bars right now, they don’t want to see me make good music. I don’t know what the f—’s going on, but f— them n—–.” He promised he wasn’t letting anything get him down because of the support fans kept giving him.
