Troy Ave is being held without bail on attempted murder charges related to the shootings that occurred at T.I.’s Irving Plaza concert in New York City earlier in May. While some have already acted as proverbial judge and jury regarding the rapper’s involvement, Meek Mill is stepping forward to defend him.
On Instagram, Meek Mill posted a picture of an injured Troy Ave being taken to his arraignment Monday (May 30). In the caption, Meek wrote about the flaws in the justice system.
“The laws they made ain’t designed to protect us!” he wrote. “‘They like get killed or get a 100 years’ Don’t let the press ‘gas’ you to go against ya own people! Because if that was a cop Tryna protect his life the police force gone stand behind them 100% ‘Pic look crazy’ #freetroy & never let these ‘bum ass nobody ‘sucka’ crab in the barrel dudes pull you down! Most of the time it’s all for attention…. that’s all these bustas be wanting forreal!”
Meek is no stranger to the run-ins with the law. He’s currently under house arrest for violating the condition of his parole, which was established in 2009 for gun and drug charges.
