All the way up! That’s the only way to describe our annual Birthday Bash on Thursday, June 9, at the Howard Theatre.
The blowout event featured performances by DMV Spotlight winners DC Dough and One Way Noochie, as well as Fat Joe, Desiigner, Young Greatness, Tabi Bonney, Ro James and Shade Jenifer. There was also a special birthday tribute to Prince.
But there were plenty of surprises…
Special guest Ginuwine ignited the crowd by performing “Pony” with Shade Jenifer. Wale and Rare Essence also made cameos, along with the legendary DJ Kool, Chuck Brown’s kids (Nekos, Wiley and KK), Scooby (Frank Sirius), Dirty Rico, Jas Funk, Killa Cal, Shorty Corleone, White Boy, JS AKA The Best, Mr. Major, Phil JaXon.

Headliner Fat Joe performed “New York,” “All the Way up,” and more.
Desiigner performed his hit song “Panda.”
Young Greatness performed “Moolah.”
Shade Jenifer sang “Ain’t No Problem,” backed by dancers.
Surprise guest Ginuwine joined Shade Jenifer onstage to perform his classic hit, “Pony.”
Ro James sang “Permission” and got down with a fan who danced onstage.
Dancers broke it down outside the Howard Theatre before doors opened.
