Beef has been brewing between Slaughterhouse’s Joe Budden and Drake, but now we have a clear shot fired, with Budden dropping the diss track “Making A Murderer: Part 1”
However, in new interview with Pitchfork, Budden says his intention is merely to bring out the best in Drizzy.
“If it were really a matter of importance him and I could jump on the phone,” he tells the publication. “I come from a hip-hop where if you didn’t have something to say, then, n—-, what the f— were you rapping for.”
Budden has been critical of Drake’s latest album Views, calling the effort “uninspired.” But he has high hopes for Drake’s response to his new track “I’m tired of rappers addressing things in every other manner in passion but rap,” he told Pitchfork.
Last summer Meek Mill (who also gets dissed on Budden’s new track) started a fight he couldn’t finish with Drake, being eviscerated by a series of diss tracks. It will be interesting to see how Budden fares. As Drizzy already warned us back in January, he’s gonna own the summer of 2016.
