Wu-Tang Clan’s de facto leader RZA has declared his support for Hillary Clinton, on some pretty sound reasoning: On world tours, he has more fun when a Democrat is in office. Also, RZA said, another Clinton presidency will be more beneficial to America’s reputation abroad than Donald Trump.
“I’ve been traveling the world from [Bill] Clinton to Bush to Barack Obama, right?” he told The Daily Beast. “And when I was going around the world during Clinton, the party was good, people came in and paid for the tickets, I wasn’t mad, room service was good, the restaurant treatment was good. When I traveled the world during Bush, people was hating on me.”
RZA also said that electing a female candidate to the highest office in the land speaks to America’s fundamental commitment to diversity.
“It would be very unique for us to [elect] a woman, because that follows the principles of what we are saying this country is,” he said.
RZA isn’t the only hip-hop luminary to say “I’m with her.” Later this month, Snoop Dogg will headline a “unity” concert after the final night of this years Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
