WASHINGTON — There was a thing that happened Monday night at the Republican National Convention that you might have heard about.
Melania Trump, wife of Donald Trump, gave a speech praising her husband. It sounded eerily like one Michelle Obama gave praising her husband eight years ago. Not surprisingly, the internet noticed.
Melania has responded:
"These accusations of plagiarism are not only hurtful to me, but they are hurtful to my children Sasha and Malia."

Then, things changed a bit.
And then, things got weird.
Finally, things got a little depressing.
So who’s fault was it that “plagerism” was trending? Well, that’s obvious.
